The Christian religion is the worship and service of Jesus Christ. It’s not Mary we worship, but her Son. We worship neither saints, angels, a law code, nor even God’s Spirit. It’s JESUS who is to be honored. The Bible is our guide.

Conversion to Christ begins when a sinner hears about Jesus Christ who rose from the dead. If the sinner believes that Jesus DID overcome death and is now alive again, that sinner's life can change.

In Acts chapter two, we read of some who heard that Jesus was alive again. They asked the preacher what they should do about the fact that it was their responsibility that Jesus was put to death. The inspired apostle Peter told them they were then to REPENT and be baptized for the remission of their sin. He promised if they did so they would receive God's gift of remission of sins and also that God would come to live in their hearts.

Seth Wilson points out that the salvation which comes through Jesus is from God -- that Jesus is the Living Word of God. Seth reminds that baptism alone cannot save any better than faith alone can.       We see that repentance is not just a pre-baptismal one-time activity. In Romans, chapter 6, Paul emphasizes that in baptism the "man of sin" (our selfishness) is to be put to death and there buried. We are raised from baptism's waters to walk in a new life (since baptism is the climax of the new birth of water and spirit). Are we who are born again obligated to perform certain church duties and to pay into a church treasury? One brother says yes -- I say no.       We who have chosen to walk with Jesus will want to worship both the Lord Jesus and His Father, Jehovah God. Suggestions about Christian Worship (Christian living) are listed under both Worship and Eternal Security headings.
